Project Name
Slow Cafe
Date Completed
January 2020
Location
Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Area
1,500sqft
The client envisions a coffee bar that offers customers a slow living experience in a dual frontage shop lot that faces a vehicular street on one side, and the other overlooking lush greenery.
Whitespade took on a minimalist approach by incorporating grey hues to dominate the overall tone, and solid red nyatoh furniture for coziness. Services above head room were decluttered by suspending light fixtures on thin tensioned cables, eliminating conventional ceiling roses.
To elevate the drink preparation experience, a soft-glowing plane was introduced to illuminate the bar. Additionally, dried blooms were incorporated as a contrasting element to the lush greenery outside, which saw wind movement among rustling leaves, creating a time capsule effect within the space.
